Welcome to Our New Site!

Over the past year and a half Bethany and I have spent an uncountable amount of hours thinking about we could better share our adventures and the stories we have had the privilege of capturing on the behalf of our clients.

Our new site design is a reflection of the lessons wrought out of some challenging and enlightening client experiences, our own discussions as to how to show our creative work in as simple and clear a fashion, and our desire to have a website that can serve as a jump-off point for the type of conversations we eagerly and enthusiastically want to dive into.

The Root of Our Purpose

Sojourner Society has always been about one very simple thing: love. Our company at its heart is two marriages: a literal one between Bethany and I, and an extended marriage between a story and it’s inherent desire to be told truthfully and skillfully.

While we tackle the day-to-day of running a business, we constantly remind ourselves that our work is rooted in the relationships, passions, and love of our and our clients’ big moments, big projects, and big ideas. It is with this reminder that we decided that we had to revisit our website and rethink the way we are presenting our work.

We aim to do the following with our new website:

Show our gallery of work

We know that hiring someone for your big event or your business project can be stressful and sometimes confusing. We hope that our gallery of work shows you the passion we have for our clients and that our main goal for every work relationship is to leave you feeling like your event and project wants and needs were heard, considered, and executed thoughtfully and mindfully.

Share what we learn

Our confidence in our skills does not rely on our claim to “know” every possible solution to a problem. Instead, we pride ourselves on transparently letting our clients into the process of finding solutions and working smartly to get things done. We hope to share any insights from our experiences and those from our clients, because we believe in the goodness of sharing our knowledge with others.

We hope that this post is the first of many and Bethany and I can’t wait to share our story and those of our clients with you!

What People Are Saying

Sojourner Society lives up to its promise: they capture magic and the moments that matter. I’m so glad that I’ve engaged their services for several years in a row – they’ve documented the growth of my children in ways that no other service could. Bethany has a keen eye as a photographer; she sees beauty in the smallest details and infuses play and a sense of adventure into her shoots. Thank you, Sojourner Society, for your exquisite work!

One of the best decisions we made for our wedding was having Bethany photograph it. She listened to our vision, of capturing the feeling of the day, and nailed the execution. She was so behind the scenes that you hardly knew she was there, and yet she managed to capture all the best moments big and small. We are so grateful to have beautiful photos we can treasure forever that honestly tell the story of our wedding day. Highly recommend the investment!

Bethany photographed our small, intimate wedding in the Strand Bookstore Rare Book Room, and we could not have been happier with our beautiful photographs! Bethany captured the evening perfectly, and we were especially impressed with how inconspicuously she photographed all the happy, spontaneous moments during the evening. She was so wonderful to work with as well - very professional, but also personable and kind.

Bethany did an excellent job shooting our family photos this year, which was no small task with a 4-year-old and a 1-year-old! She was patient, creative, and captured a fantastic variety of scenes in two hours. The beautiful finished photos convey each of our personalities and each unique relationship within our family. We couldn’t be happier with Sojourner Society!
